Summary of Main Topics
- Commercial plots launched & filled instantly
A new commercial “city” near the Primfeed main store was introduced, and all plots were rented on day one. The response was unexpected and nice to see! I’m still thinking whether I should add more and whether there are some events to do around those new projects to promote stores on the city.
- Ban system improved
Banned users now see a clear reason, duration, and optional moderator comment instead of just “account locked,” making moderation more transparent and flexible for us.
- User-specific settings update
Settings like maturity rating are now linked to the user’s personal account rather than their store, helping separate personal preferences from business content.
- Credit card billing option in development
Optional credit card payment will allow for auto-renewing subscriptions. The supported currencies will be USD, EUR, GBP, and CAD. Legal documents are nearly complete; a beta test will be available before this summer.
- Primfeed’s 1st anniversary in June
Primfeed turns one on June 20. A party will be held at The Burrow. 💞
What’s Next on Primfeed
- Official launch of the commercial city
A formal announcement is coming this week for the commercial area next to Primfeed, which will help drive traffic to smaller creators.
- Large plot to become art gallery
A large remaining plot near the landing point will likely host a rotating art exhibit instead of a store. This was a long-term idea, and it is now planned to be built by Teal with themes and artist showcases. More on that later.
- Firestorm upload integration this summer
Residents will soon be able to upload photos directly to Primfeed from Firestorm. The API is almost complete and visually polished. Hopefully, we can have it for this summer.
- Search & hashtags
Search and hashtags are the primary focus right now. I’m looking at the engine to handle typo management, tagging, etc. All post text will be indexed for the search.
- Community & group features
A dedicated community meeting is planned to better understand resident needs for groups and community features.
Answers to Questions
- Videos pausing on scroll: It’s in the todo.
- Hashtags/search retroactive use: New engine will index all past posts. Hashtags can be used now but won’t be clickable or searchable yet.
- AI mesh generator featured content: This was allowed due to source trust (Speedlight/Smarbots), use of L$, and SL relevance.
- Gallery navigation arrows: Confirmed as a needed feature and being prioritized.
- Improved follower tools: A better following/follower UI is planned, including a “This user follows you” kind of thing.
- Clarity on commercial content: WIP are considered commercial because they’re usually creators. Maybe there is clarification to be made on that part, but it’s not planned to allow WIP in the artistic category.
- Feed ads based on behavior: Possibly in the future, low frequency (1 in 10–15 posts). Only SL-related content and it’s not a current priority.
